Since its inception in 1842, Eckhart has been guided by the belief that the quality of
our surroundings has a strong and direct influence on the quality of
our lives,
whether in the workplace, at home, or in the public realm.
Combined with that is our firm belief that space is generated by the
needs and wishes of its users. In light of this, our vision has always been
to combine design
excellence with professional execution and service.
Our dedication to quality and our desire for continuous development and evolution have led us to start a separate branch within Eckhart to promote excellence in information, concepts, and ideas. This research group consists of the lead designers within Eckhart, combined with a number of people from outside the company to bring in fresh ideas and knowledge. Together, we work on general research in the field of interior design and applied research to better aid our clients in formulating their ideas and goals for the spaces in which they work or live.
We thus develop innovative concepts for housing and working. We are also engaged in an ongoing investigation into the nature of sustainability in relation to interior design. Through literature studies, brainstorming, and the generation of huge piles of ideas, our research process starts with a broad range of concepts that are naturally culled until one convergent storyline is created. We then present these projects as booklets, interactive presentations, or short movies. Through challenging the status quo in established methods and concepts, we aim at keeping Eckhart fresh, innovative and constantly evolving.
