The Salone Internationale del Mobile is the world's premier fair for furniture and interior design, held in Milan in Italy. After a restrained and muted 2010 version, plagued by recession and vulcanic ashes, the 2011 version was much more elaborate. While it was not as lavish as previous versions, many brands presented a wide range of new and innovative pieces.
We've selected a compilation of items from the wide range of new products that were introduced. These products will become available in the next few months.

Out of this wide range of products, we have a couple of instant favorites. The Arper Gher table and the matching legs of the updated Catifa 53 chair make a great couple for kitchen or restaurant spaces. We also really like to outdoors version of the ultimate classic masterpieces by Le Corbusier at Cassina. At Poltrona Frau, the combination of Fred & Ginger creates a very elegant and classy home office setting. And for the larger conference spaces, the Zanotta Lungometraggio provides a very versatile and elegant solution with its free span of up to 6 meter.
All in all, the fair provided a lot of inspiration in the form of new products and extensions/upgrades to existing product lines. Unfortunately, it did not really show a consistent direction for the market of interior design.
